He made his first appearance at the Metropole Theatre, Camberwell as Pantaloon in a Pantomime Harlequinade.

After next appearing at the Palace, he went on to appear in all the leading London and provincial Music Halls and continued to appear in Pantomime.

Joe Archer married the dancer IDA HEATH.

THE SONGS THAT JOE SANG INCLUDE:

AT THE SEASIDE

BEFORE I GET MARRIED AGAIN

DON'T TAKE ME AWAY FROM THE GIRLS

HI JOHNNY! WHOSE YOUR TAILOR?

HOLD ME TIGHT A LITTLE LONGER JOE

THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT

IF THERE WERE NO MEN

I HAVE

I LEAVE

I'M COMING IN WITH YOU

IN THE DAYS OF ADAM AND EVE

I PUT MY UMBRELLA UP

I SAW, HE SAW, THEY SAW

I SHALL HAVE TO

IT BELONGS TO SOMEBODY ELSE

IT'S A MAD MAD WORLD

JOIN IN THE CHORUS

KEEP ON JOGGING ALONG

KELLY'S GONE TO KINGDOM COME

LITTLE THINGS AND WHAT THEY LEAD TO

McNAB, McDUFF, McPHERSON AND ME

MATRIMONIAL BLISS

MR MOONEY MONEY

MY WIFE'S UPSET ME

NEVER FALL IN LOVE

OH, 'ENERY

OUT WITH A BARROW

PATSY HENNESSY

TELL YOUR MOTHER YOU'VE LOST IT

THAT'S ANOTHER LITTLE THING WANTS SEEING TO

THERE'S A JACK FOR EVERY JILL

THINGS THAT A MAN CANT DO

THIS IS THE WAY WE DO THE TRICK

TO HELP ME ON MY JOURNEY LEND ME HALF A CROWN

TRY, TRY, TRY AGAIN

WE ARE A FINE FAMILY

WHAT A CONJURE! WHAT A CHOP!

WHAT DO YOU THINK I SAW TODAY?

WHAT HAS BECOME OF OUR SONGS?

WHEN FATHER PUT HIS NEW SUIT ON

WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO, CHARLIE?

WHILE YOU'RE SLEEPING

YANKEE DOODLE MIXTURES

YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND A WAY

YOU LOOK ALL WRONG BECAUSE YOU'RE BANDY

YOU'RE WEARING THE HAT YOUR FATHER WORE

YOU STOP WHERE YOU ARE
